WYNONNA EARP: EVERYONE WELCOME

Wynonna Earp, with the title alone you can feel the comfort this show has given to it's viewers. With the final episode we come to the end of a beautiful era. There are a lot of things one can say objectively about the more professional parts of Wynonna Earp, starting from the talented cast, the amazing script that can make you feel every emotion in the time span of two seconds, the filmography, all the references to others shows and music and so on.

But on a personal level, I find this show even more important. It’s warm, safe, inclusive. The representation it has given to the LGBT + community it’s like nothing else, we see a wlw relationship in all it’s beauty. From the crazy stuff that happens in Purgatory to the pure domestic loving scenes.

And then, there’s the Earp sisters that melt your heart with how pure and strong their bond is, there’s nothing that can be compared to it or break it.

We also see relationships where they mess up but understand their mistakes and grow together, we see friendships that you know are the ones that last a life time: in the good the bad and the worst.

Also the most important relationship of all: the one with oneself. We see the journey that the main character has to go on to realise that she is indeed worth of love, from herself and from the others.

None of the characters are perfect, they show their human side by making mistakes, even more than once, but in the end they always come around to their family, both by blood and chosen. Wynonna Earp, the show, tackles important everyday matters (depression, personifying it; self worth; feminism; freedom of being yourself etc. etc. ) by putting them in an “abnormal” setting full of demons and heirs but they always make sure that the audience understand the strong message they want to give. I think there’s only one way to describe it: love, companionship, real.

And most importantly, Wynonna Earp is home.

Everyone welcome.

Make your peace.
